Information & Coding Theory

Supporting Competencies: CM 2 able to provide optimum solution for latest telecommunication system problem, by accommodation various QoS guarantees, supported by adaptive system design as respond to environment/canal condition changes, by implementing latest related techniques.

Objectives : Introduction to communication and information theory, information size, canal and memory less canal capacity, course coding which consists of fixed length coding, optimum variable length coding, Markov source, Shannon Fano coding, universal lossless coding, and channel coding which consist of group theory, Galois field, polynomials, irreducible polynomial, primitive polynomial, minimal polynomial, block codes, cyclic codes, BCH codes, Reed-Solomon Codes, Convolutional Codes, and Turbo Codes.
