Foreign Student Documents: Visa and Immigration. All international students who wish to study in Indonesia must obtain the foreign student documents or International student documents including visa and study permit. Don’t worry! Telkom University International Office will assist international students in handling the immigration process. Here are the following documents you must know and also obtain.

A. Visiting Visa (Visa Type B index 211)

This visa is used for visiting Indonesia in limited period of time. This visa is used for tourism, family visits, social and cultural activities, official government visits, non-commercial sports, business and commercial activities, conferences, seminars, discussions in international exhibitions, short courses and comparative studies , journalistic activities, film making activities, non-profit or transit activities.

For international students who enroll for inbound mobility program such as student exchange (1 semester), short course, joint course, joint research, etc, we advise you to apply for this visa in the Indonesian Embassy in your home country since this visa is valid for 60 days and has the possibility to be extended a maximum of 4 times with an additional 30 days for each extension.

Here are the required documents for applying visiting visa:

  1. An application letter for Visiting Visa from International Office of Telkom University
  2. Letter of Acceptance (LoA)
  3. Copy of Passport

When you need to extend the visa, you need to prepare the process of visa extension 14 days before the expiry date. You need to prepare the following documents:

  1. An application letter for Visiting Visa (prepared by International Office of Telkom University)
  2. Immigration Form No. 23 (prepared by International Office of Telkom University)
  3. Recommendation letter (prepared by International Office of Telkom University)
  4. Guarantee and Sponsorship letter (prepared by International Office of Telkom University)
  5. A copy of identity card of the sponsor (prepared by International Office of Telkom University)
  6. Original valid Passport
  7. A copy of passport
  8. Two (2) recent photographs, size of 4X6 for the second extension
  9. Return flight ticket

B. Study Permit

Study permit will be processed by International Office of Telkom University to Directorate General of Higher Education. The requirements are:

  1. Recommendation Letter (prepared by International Office of Telkom University)
  2. A copy of Certificate/Transcript (English version)
  3. A copy of passport
  4. Original Statement of Financial Support
  5. Original Statement of LegalityCompliance to The Campus Rules and Regulations, Non-Employment Status, and Non-Politics
  6. Original Health Certificate
  7. Two (2) recent photographs, size of 4X6

C. Limited Residence Visa/TELEX Visa (C316)

This visa is used for foreigners who plan to stay for relatively longer period of time, or also plan to Work, Investment, Research, Study, Family Reunification, Repatriation, as Overseas Tourists. This visa can be applied to the Directorate General of Immigration.

For international students who enroll for Diploma, Bachelor, and Master Program, we will assist you to apply this kind of visa because it can valid until 4 years (Bachelor Program period). Here are the following requirements for applying this visa:

  1. Application and sponsor letter (prepared by International Office of Telkom University)
  2. Approval of Study Permit (prepared by International Office of Telkom University)
  3. Passport cover page
  4. Passport bio-data page
  5. Bank statement (prepared by International Office of Telkom University)

D. Limited Stay Permit (KITAS)

This document will be processed when you arrive at Telkom University, Bandung-Indonesia. This process is converting Telex Visa into KITAS. These are the requirements:

  1. Application letter (prepared by International Office of Telkom University)
  2. Study permit
  3. Telex Visa
  4. Application and sponsor letter (prepared by International Office of Telkom University)
  5. A copy of valid passport
  6. A copy of sponsor ID card (prepared by International Office of Telkom University)
  7. A copy of sponsor family certificate (prepared by International Office of Telkom University)

E. Police Report Certificate (STM)

This document will be processed when you arrive at Telkom University, Bandung-Indonesia. This step is conducted to report that you have arrived and lived as student of Telkom University. The following are required documents to process STM:

  1. Application Letter (prepared by International Office of Telkom University)
  2. A copy of valid passport
  3. A copy of KITAS
  4. Study Permit

F. Domicile Letter

This letter can be obtained from Village Officer. This letter is issued to report your domicile during studying at Telkom University. This process is fully handled by International Office. Here are the requirements:

  1. Application Letter (prepared by International Office of Telkom University)
  2. Cover letter from local RT/RW (prepared by International Office of Telkom University)
  3. A copy of valid passport

G. Residence Certificate (SKTT)

After reporting to the police station, International Office will also report you to Department of Population and Civil Registration (Disdukcapil) to get Residence Certificate (SKTT). The required documents are:

  1. Application letter (prepared by International Office of Telkom University)
  2. A copy of KITAS
  3. Original STM (Police Report Certificate)
  4. Original Domicile Letter
  5. Study permit
  6. A copy of valid passport
  7. Photo 4×6 3×2 4×3 each 3 sheets
  8. Application form from disdukcapil
Immigration & Study Permit Process

For documents no 4,5,6,7 International Office will fully handle for you. After obtaining all those documents you will be safe in term of immigration process. And let say, if you want to apply for bank account, you just need to use passport and KITAS.
