Elective Courses for Telecommunication Engineering Study Program:

CoursesCourse IDDescription
Satellite Communication System TTG4C3SATCOMSYS is related to the ability of students in recognizing communication via satellite and its each characteristics, including related parameter and its obstacles. Through discussion / exercises which will be given to students, they will be able to designing and analyzing proper satellite communication system for a particular condition / demand for dispersing traffic.
Microwave ComponentTTG4D3This course discusses channel-pair wire, coaxial, waveguide for microwaves, a wide variety of micro channel strip. S and DAC parameter study to analyze 2 port network in terms of characteristics: the reflection coefficient, transmission coefficient, attenuation, and phase shift, a figure of merit and k factor. For analyzing the stability will be used aid of smith chart.
Radio Engineering TTG4B3Radio system engineering course is related to the ability of students to recognize the transmission media – radio and nature – nature, including the related parameters and its constraints / limitations. Discussion / exercises provided so students will be able to design and analyze proper radio system for a particular condition / demand.
Network Engineering TTG4F3Network engineering course is related to sharpen students’ ability in implementing related theory and application in improving network performance, including providing a huge task that directs students to perform experiments and exploration of engineering technology in a network, such as routing protocols, access protocols, transport protocols using analysis tools such as network simulator, Math Lab, GNS3, OPNET, and other implementation techniques.
Advanced Optical Communication TTG4E3This course discusses the technology and applications as well as the design of both trunk optical network (OTN), includes its access components such as add drop multiplex, optical cross connects, wavelength converter, SONET, SDH, ASON, packet optical networks FTTx, pound, GPON, and GEPON.
Coding & CompressionTTG4J3This course aims to equip students about the concept of coding and compression, lossless coding and lossy coding. starting from the basic concepts of coding, information theory, a variety of lossless coding include code Shannon, Shannon-Fano code, Golomb code, Huffmann code, arithmetic code, followed by basic mathematical Lossy code, quantization, and examples of Lossy coding.
Mobile Application TTG4I3This course aims to provide provision of mobile application development, especially with the android operating system. Began with the concept and architecture of mobile applications, and then review the paradigm of programming on android and case studies and projects at post mid-exam.
Wireless NetworkTTG4G3This course aims to provide insight into the Wireless network architecture, network, the standard variety of wireless network protocols, wireless networks, and ad hoc wireless network security through WEP, WPA and WPA2 Protocol.
NGN & LTETTG4H3Provides competence in NGN and LTE architecture, NGN & LTE construction and component architecture, standard protocols and transfer mechanisms, understanding different types of services / features, understanding NGN and LTE technology development, technology migration strategy towards NGN and LTE.
Cryptography & Network Security TTG4L3This course aims to provide the basic concepts of data and network security through cryptography. Section before mid-exam contains data threats, security mode (authentication, authority, and digital signature), and basic techniques of cryptography with symmetric and asymmetric methods, as well as examples of its algorithm. Standard algorithms of DES, 3DES, AES are discussed as an example of real time. Study material post mid-exam including examples of the application of cryptographic algorithms on securing the network including wireless network.
