Online Joint Class, first between Tel-U & UTP. A historical moment between Telkom University and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS happened on Wednesday (24/2/21). It was the first Online Joint Class that was successfully held on Wednesday, February 24th, 2021 at 11 AM (Indonesian Time) or 12 AM (Malaysian Time). Dr. Lucy Pujasari Supratman, S.S., M.Si, a lecturer at Telkom University and Dr. Hairuzila Idrus, a lecturer at University Technology PETRONAS, share the topic on the professional Communication Skills-Persuasive oral presentation. More than 100 participants were involved in the first online program between both universities.
Dr. Lucy discussed several goals to maximize a professional communication. She explained that both skills in persuasion and basic oral presentation needed to be able to interact optimally, therefore oral presentation is one of the teaching methods. Effective speaking demands a high level of skill in the oral presentation of the material and full compression on the part of the instructor. Thus, presentation is the practice of showing and explaining the content of a topic to an audience or students, meanwhile persuasive oral presentation communication skills are a process of convincing others to take an action or agree to an idea.
