University Ranking by UI GreenMetric 2022: TelU as A Sustainable University. University ranking, nowadays, is one of the factors students and parents consider when determining where to send their children for higher education. Telkom University which always participates in the university rankings received good news in this early 2023. Prestigious achievement has been awarded to Telkom University as a Sustainable University by the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking in 2022. The UI GreenMetric World University Rankings are a system to give rankings to all universities in the world that support and commit to managing the sustainability of the environment in order to be “green universities,” to be environmentally friendly, to have sophisticated technology, and to be able to produce something new.

UI GreenMetric World University Ranking 2022 has named Telkom University “A Sustainable University,” the 1^st ranking of all private universities in Indonesia and the 9^th ranking of all universities in Indonesia. Through 39 indicators in 6 criteria, UI GreenMetric World University Rankings prudently determined the rankings based on universities’ environmental commitment and initiatives to support a sustainable environment.

All Telkom University lecturers, staff, and students must be very proud of the achievement of Telkom University, which has been ranked as the number 1 private university and the number 9 private university of all universities in Indonesia by the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking 2022 as a sustainable university. The achievements are as follows:

1. The achievement for Score UI GreenMetric is 8300.
2. Achievement in Asian Ranking: 27
3. The World Ranking achievement: 77

The achievement of being a sustainable university is surely no doubt because of the hard work of Telkom University in supporting, implementing, and committing to all aspects that are needed to become a sustainable university. Based on greenmetric.ui.ac.id, Telkom University has achieved an achievement with a total score of UI GreenMetric (UIGM) 8300 as a sustainable university that includes:

1. Score for Setting and Infrastructure: 975
2. Score for Energy and Climate Change: 1700
3. Score for the aspect of waste: 1425
4. Score for the aspect of water: 900
5. Score for the aspect of Education and Research: 1775

Some actions taken by Telkom University in achieving its first ranking as a sustainable university should be continuously supported by all Telkom University academicians. Moreover, we, all Indonesian citizens, and all people in the world must remember that protecting our environment must start with ourselves and become our daily habits.

Hopefully, Telkom University can keep its ranking as the number one private university in Indonesia and the title of sustainable university from the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking for many years to come.
