Tel-U signed MoU with FPT University, Vietnam

FPT University received a special visit on October 22nd by Professor Mochamad Ashari and Mr Ama Suyanto, delegates from Telkom University. The Telkom University official visit signified an important cooperation between FPT University and Telkom University as a Memorandum of Understanding.

Telkom University is the first university in Indonesia owned by a corporation, PT. Telkom. The corporation is the biggest telecommunication operator in Indonesia that focusing on telecommunication field. It is the first university in Indonesia which focusing on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. The University has active international collaboration with the partnership network covering Australia, France, Netherland, India, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Germany, etc. FPT University is the first partner that Telkom University choose to establish relations with in Vietnam territory.

“I know FPT University has similar history with Telkom University. Telkom University is belong to PT. Telkom and FPT University is owned by FPT Corporation. We both concentrate on ICT field. That’s why I choose FPT University as the first one to set up long term cooperation in Vietnam” said the Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Ir. Mochamad Ashari, M.Eng., Ph.D.

After signing the MOU, the two universities will looking for the chance to develop the partnership programs such as short visit, exchange course, full time degree, and internship, etc.
In the scope of FPT University’s exchange programs, there were approximately 400 students had been to the University annually for improving knowledge and experiencing the indigenous cultures with students of other parts of the world. Students attending in FPT University’s exchange programs coming from many other countries such as Japan, Thailand, Brunei, Philippines, Taiwan, Australia, Germany, etc. By establishing the relationship with Telkom University, the international student system will be extended beyond to this Southeast Asia nation.
