Projects Presentation & Closing Remarks VSC in Future Technology. Projects presentation in the last Session of the Virtual Short Course in Future Technology has been held successfully on Saturday, October 30th, 2021. Finally all participants completed the Virtual Short Course in Future Technology that had been conducted since early October (09/10/2021) until last October (30/10/2021). In this program, participants learned many inputs in future technology including Artificial Intelligence, Image Processing, and Robotics from the amazing lecturers from Telkom University Indonesia, Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, and Mapua University Philippines. In addition, they also worked in group creating the last projects on those topics.

Having presented the projects on Image Processing in previous session, participants continued to present their projects on Robotics in the last session of the Virtual Short Course in Future Technology (30/10/2021). There were 22 groups of participants that would like to present their last projects. They demonstrated their projects on making Line Follower Robot using Webots. At the last session, Mr. Muhammad Ikhsan Sani, S.T., M.T., and Mr. Simon Siregar, S.Si., M.T., lecturers at Telkom University reviewed and evaluated participants projects.

Projects Presentation Challenges

In the projects presentation session, some participants experienced challenges. However, Mr. Ikhsan and Mr. Simon kindly helped participants who had problem in finishing their last projects. The speakers were aware that coding the line follower robot using Webots has its challenges, especially for participants who just learned the robotics in their first year. Other obstacle in the last session of the Virtual Short Course in Future Technology was some participants could not run the Webots in Zoom sharing screen. Fortunately, Mr. Ikhsan and Mr. Simon understood that condition as Mr. Ikhsan experienced same case; his laptop crashed when running Webots through Zoom sharing screen. Last, the speakers invited participants who couldn’t present their projects due to technical issue to send their projects through email. Thus, they can still assess their last projects.

As the Virtual Short Course came to the last session, the Closing Ceremony was employed to mark the end of the Virtual Short Course in Future Technology. Representatives from three universities expressed their last remarks and wish for other future collaborative programs. The first last-remarks was delivered by Mr. Rafidei Mohamad, Deputy Dean, International, Industrial & Institutional Partnership UniKL Malaysian Institute of Information Technology. Mr. Rafidei felt blessed and happy that he, along with Telkom University and Mapua University could implement this beneficial collaborative projects. This projects certainly enhance students’ knowledge and skill.

Dr. Eira Espejo-Camus, Director of International Career and Exchange Programs, Mapua University gave her last remarks right after Mr. Rafidei. In line with Mr. Rafidei, Dr Eira also expressed her gratitude. She hoped that Mapua University can continue to collaborate with Telkom University and UniKL to design other interesting collaborative projects for their beloved students. Likewise, last remarks was also given by Ms Lia Yuldinawati, S.T., M.T, Director of Strategic Partnership and International Office of Telkom University.
