Improving Financial Literacy

BANDUNG, Telkom University – Improving Financial Literacy, Telkom University and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Established a Mutual Cooperation. Telkom University together with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) agreed to develop financial services sector, improve financial literacy and consumer protection in the financial services sector, that agreement is stated in a memorandum of understanding signed on Monday (8/20) at Wisma Building Mulia 2 on the 17th floor, Jakarta.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Rector of Telkom University Prof. Ir. Mochamad Ashari, M.Eng., Ph.D., and Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners Wimboh Santoso

In the MOU signing event, OJK also inaugurated OJK Innovation Center for Digital Financial Technology (OJK Infinity) which aims to build a fintech ecosystem into a part of the national financial system that benefits the community and encourages economic growth.

In his remarks Wimboh Santoso said OJK Infinity would be a forum for discussion and collaboration between industries, regulators, government, academia and innovation.

“It is expected that the results of the discussion will refer to the 3 main functions of OJK Infinity, namely 1) Facilitating regulatory sandbox as Fintech incubator to balance innovation and consumer protection. 2) As an innovation hub for the development of the Digital Financial Industry (IKD) as well as development of the IKD ecosystem as a whole. 3) As an educational center for both financial service players, consumers and academics who will become IKD activists as Indonesian economic actors in the future, “he said.

Wimboh Santoso added that in the future OJK Infinity will expand cooperation with educational institutions and private sectors.

“We will establish cooperation for education sector that has a commitment in line with the development of the digital financial sector, one of which is that OJK is cooperating with Telkom University through a Memorandum of Understanding within the scope of research and the establishment of Master Education program in the field of IKD,” he said.

The signing of the MoU between Telkom University and OJK was also witnessed by the Minister of Communication and Information Rudiantara.

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology appreciated the efforts of OJK by developing Fintech Center. “I congratulate the launch of the Fintech Center because the technology that is now growing incredibly cannot be restricted,” he said.
