Students of the Faculty of Informatics Were Elected to be Samsung Student Ambassador
BANDUNG, TEL – U – Five teams of students of Informatics Faculty of Informatics Telkom University were elected to be Samsung Student Ambassador. They won the competition held by one of the Korean big company. This competition is one of the stages of the selection of Samsung Student Ambassador in Indonesia. A few months ago, Samsung Research located in Singapore chose Telkom University as academic partners in Indonesia for the Samsung Application Challenge Competition. The fifth team was consisted of Prastyawan Nugroho Aji, Fathurrohman E, and Mariah Ari Bowo (Tim Infinithink), Hafiz Muhammad Akmal (Tim Ginzama 1), Gino Sunarto and Hamzah Asadurrahman (Tim Ginzama 2), Faisal Rahman (Tim Iseng and Tim Cocobi), M Kamal Ikmal (Tim Iseng), and Buchori Rev H and M Irfandi Susanto (Tim Cocobi). The benefits of this were receiving the status of ambassador, a certificate and invited to Samsung Developer events. Moreover, they will also get mentorship of Samsung APIs & Technology developers and network with other professionals and ambassador. Prior to this achievement, the students have to follow a number of stages. Began with registering their idea in October last year. After that, the approved idea will be returned along with a number of records to be revised. “This process takes some time,” said Fathurrohman. After revised their ideas for a few weeks, the students were then chosen by Samsung and asked to come to the Bandung Institute of Technology campus. The fifth team then competed in between them and the elected as 1st winner, 1st runner up winner, 2nd runner up winner, 3rd runner up winner and 4th runner up winner. The Dean of Faculty of Informatics, Dr. Maman Abdurohman ST, MT was admitted very happy with the achievements of the students. “One of the quality of the educational process is characterized by the emergence of both students and graduates in event like this,” he said, accompanied by Vice-Rector Dr Adiwijaya S.Si. 1, M.Sc. Although the faculty has yet to fully support, said Maman, he hopes to provide a supporting accommodation such as a single room on the 2nd floor or 3rd floor which is designed as a camp for students who will participate in the competition. “If they need any resources, just tell us. For example, there are teams that need large bandwidth, computers, and so on. Because in the future, the faculty might be more rewarding, “he said. (Purel / raf)
