QS Recognized Subjects of Telkom University. Telkom University as the “Best Private University” in Indonesia again won a brilliant achievement from QS. This time, the QS World University Rankings has released a list of universities that are considered to be the most superior university by subject. For the 2021 edition, released on March 3, 2021, Telkom University managed to enter the 551-600 QS world rankings and 6^th in Indonesia for the subject of Computer Science and Information Systems.

These subjects are belongs to the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Faculty of Computing. The recognition of these subjects by QS is the first time for Telkom University.

Previously, in the subject of Computer Engineering, Telkom University had also received recognition from the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings (WUR) and made it into the top 5 best universities in Indonesia alongside the state universities. This achievement certainly makes all parties proud because at a relatively young age, Telkom University continues to show its existence and excellence in the international recognition.

QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), a World university rating agency based in London, England, uses an assessment based on a rating evaluation system related to innovation, openness, educational services which include research and teaching, benefit to the surrounding community (community service), and also related support resource. As cited at the official website topuniversities.com, the QS ranking of universities in the world by subject covers 51 disciplines, which are grouped into five broad subject areas. This ranking is compiled annually to help prospective students identify top universities in a particular field of study.

On September 2020, Telkom University through CeLOE, managed to get 5 stars for the Online Learning category from QS Stars. Then, Telkom University managed to get 4 stars overall for the QS Stars Rating System at the QS University Rating 2020. Telkom University goals is to achieve QS 5 Stars in 2023, and also improve the position in QS rank. QS University Rankings and QS Stars are some of quality achievement that Telkom University wants to achieve and maintain.

QS Recognition Means for Telkom University

Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Adiwijaya said that, Telkom University does have advantages in the field of ICT (Information Communication & Technology), which is in line with the mission of Telkom University in implementing and developing international standard education based on information technology. Telkom University’s achievement in QS once again become a milestone for Telkom University’s history.
