Telkom University through the International Office in collaboration with Universiti Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia organized an Online Joint Class 2022 Vol.1 entitled Investment Management for Millennials and Gen Z on Thursday, 24 March 2022. This “Investment Management for Millennials and Gen Z” event invited several experts from both universities, including:
- Dr. Sita Deliyana Firmialy, lecturer from Telkom University (Investment Management)
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cordelia Mason, lecturer from Universiti Kuala Lumpur (Investment Management)
In the Investment Management for Millennials and Gen Z event, the speakers will highlight information related to financial literacy, financial freedom and how to manage it. Financial literacy is the ability to understand and effectively use a variety of financial skills, including personal financial management, budgeting, and investment. Financial literacy is also the foundation of a journey of relationship with money and lifelong learning. Investment is very important today.
Investment Management for Millennials and Gen Z
The first interval of Investment Management for Millennials and Gen Z events was opened by Dr. Sita Deliyana Firmialy, lecturer from Telkom University. Dr. Sita highlighted six procedures for financial planning, including: determining the current financial situation, developing the financial goals, identifying alternative courses of action, evaluating your alternatives, creating and implementing your financial action plan, and reviewing & revising the plan.
Investment Management session continues by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cordelia Mason, lecturer from Universiti Kuala Lumpur. In this Investment Management for Millennials and Gen Z event, Dr. Cordelia highlighted four elements of financial wellness for present and future time. In terms of security, a person should have control over day-to-day and month-to-month finances for the present time and have the capacity to absorb a financial shock in the future. Meanwhile, in terms of freedom of choice, a person should have financial freedom to make choices that let them enjoy life for now and be on track to meet long-term financial goals in the future.
