Inbound International Students: Top Ten Universities 2023
Inbound International Students, in this case, are the students who come from abroad holding non-Indonesian passport to study at universities in Indonesia. Top Ten universities in Indonesia with the most inbound international students 2022 has been released by Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. This ranking is carried out based on the number of inbound international students’ study permits applied and reported by the universities. Generally, this ranking is released at the end of the year, yet now it has been released to encourage all universities to implement international mobilities and report the existence of their international students.
Telkom University as the best private university in Indonesia is ranked 3rd with 867 international students. This number is spread over several programs including Degree and Non-Degree Programs. Degree Program is a regular program with a duration of 1 semester to 8 semesters where inbound international students study at Telkom University by taking the following programs:
- Bachelor Degree Program
- Master Degree Program
- Student Exchange Program
- Credit Earning/Transfer Program
Inbound International students who enrolled in the Degree Program will receive an academic transcript and diploma (Bachelor & Master Program) at the end of the program which set them apart from Non-Degree Program.
Non-Degree Program includes 1) Short Course Program, 2) Joint Class Program, 3) Engineering Service Learning, and 4) Visit Program which only take short period of time. It is the Non-Degree Programs that contribute the largest number of inbound international students at Telkom University. This is because Telkom University has a variety of interesting short courses collaborated with partner universities and consortia both nationally and internationally. For 2022, Telkom University receives quite a lot of inbound international students from the Online Joint Class Program with partner universities, including Batangas State University. Likewise, another joint course program with international consortium like ATUNet and P2A has also add numbers of inbound international students.
