Bandung, September 26, 2024 – A remarkable educational and cultural exchange has just concluded between Telkom University and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), as both institutions joined hands to deliver an enriching Collaborative Short Course 2024 from September 17 to 26, 2024. The Collaborative Short Course 2024 event opened with a colorful Opening Ceremony, attended by key representatives including Prof. Dr. Yusliza Mohd Yusoff from UMT and Prof. Dr. Ratri Wahyuningtyas, S.T., M.M., Dean of the School of Economic and Business at Telkom University. Their speeches underscored the significance of cross-border collaboration in education.

What truly set the tone for the Collaborative Short Course 2024 event was an exciting performance by UMT students, who showcased the rich diversity of traditional Malaysian attire, followed by a moving group rendition of popular Malaysian songs. Over the next few days, students from Telkom University and UMT came together in a series of joint academic classes in the Collaborative Short Course 2024 event. “It was an eye-opening experience for us,” said a UMT participant. “We not only shared knowledge with local entrepreneurs but also gained real-world business insights that textbooks simply can’t provide.”

The hands-on experience allowed students to witness how theoretical concepts are applied in a real-world context, while helping the community in meaningful ways.

Collaborative Short Course 2024: Exploring the Heart of Bandung

On the weekend, the Collaborative Short Course 2024 continued itscultural journey as UMT students set out to explore Bandung. They visited Gedung Sate, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, and its accompanying museum, where they delved into the rich history of the region. The Museum Pos also offered fascinating insights into Indonesia’s communication history.

Food, of course, played a major role in their experience. From Batagor to Nasi Liwet, students indulged in the mouth watering flavors that Bandung is famous for. The blend of history, culture, and food left a lasting impression on everyone involved.

The cultural immersion culminated in a visit to Saung Angklung Udjo, where students witnessed the magic of traditional Indonesian music performed with the Angklung, a traditional bamboo instrument.
