
Building Knowledge and Culture Together: Short Course Tel-U x UUM 2025 at Telkom University
Bandung, Indonesia – From September 22 to 25, 2025, Telkom University proudly hosted the Short Course Tel-U x UUM 2025, welcoming students from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) to Bandung for a program that blended academic excellence with cultural exploration. The initiative reaffirmed the strong collaboration between the two universities and provided students with meaningful learning experiences in both business knowledge and Indonesian heritage.
The Short Course Tel-U x UUM 2025 focused on two main academic sessions featuring distinguished speakers from both institutions. The first session was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siti Zubaidah Othman from the School of Business Management, UUM, who presented on Human Resource Management. Her lecture provided students with valuable insights into HR strategies, organizational behavior, and methods of identifying and managing talent in the workplace.
Complementing this, the second session of the Short Course Tel-U x UUM 2025 featured Sherly Artadita, S.T.P., M.B.A., M.S.M from the Business Administration Department, Faculty of Economics and Business, Telkom University. She discussed Business Communication, highlighting the importance of effective communication skills in managing teams, fostering collaboration, and driving business success. The students actively engaged in discussions, case studies, and group work, making the sessions interactive and impactful.
Through these academic activities, the Short Course Tel-U x UUM 2025 gave participants a comprehensive understanding of how companies can find and nurture talent while emphasizing the critical role of communication in business environments. The collaboration between lecturers from UUM and Telkom University enriched the learning experience by combining regional insights and global perspectives.
Beyond the classroom, cultural immersion was a central component of the Short Course Tel-U x UUM 2025. Students participated in a simple batik workshop, where they learned traditional Indonesian textile art techniques. Guided by Tel-U lecturer, participants learnt the history of batik, colored the batik fabric, gaining hands-on experience and a deeper appreciation for the creativity embedded in Indonesian culture.
