Hanyang International Summer School (HISS) is one of Korea’s leading international summer programs. Offering various courses allows students from all backgrounds and majors to participate in the program. On top of the academic focus, there are also plenty of opportunities to experience Korean culture through many organized activities.

PROGRAM PERIOD OF HISS 2026
The program is scheduled to take place over four weeks and five weeks, commencing in June to August 2026.
PROGRAM MODE OF HISS 2026
HISS 2026 offers two modes of programs:
1. 2026HISS (4 Weeks, 28 June – 25 July 2026)
2. 2026HYLION (5 weeks, 28 June – 01 August 2026)

INTERNAL REGISTRATION DEADLINE OF HISS 2026
Telkom University students who want to participate in the HISS 2026 at Hanyang University must register beforehand via the internal application link before 31 March 2026.
COURSES OF HISS 2026
General Guidelines
• Courses are taught from Monday to Saturday (15 class days in total)
• Maximum: Students can choose up to 3 courses and earn up to 9 credits.
• Minimum: at least 1 course
• Academic Course: 3 credits (45 contact hours)
• Elective Course: 2 or 3 credit (30 or 45 contact hours)

• Minimum enrollments must be met for each course to be confirmed.
• Some of the courses listed are tentative and subject to change.
• Course registration will proceed strictly on a first-come, first-served basis

HISS PROGRAM (4 Weeks)
- Week 1 (Seoul)

Classes, and Club Activities + Graduation Ceremony - Week 4 (Jeju)
Welcoming, Lecturers & Activities at Jeju University
HYLION PROGRAM (5 Weeks)
- Week 1-3 (Program in Seoul)
Students will follow the same activities with the HISS Program 2026. - Week 4 (Program in Jeju University)
Students will fly to Jeju Island and spend 6 days (Campus Tour, General Lecture, Social Innovation Activity, Jeju Tour, Cultural Excursion, and Closing Ceremony) - Week 5 (Program in JAPAN)
Students will fly to Japan and spend 6 days in Japan (Waseda University Campus Tour, General& Special Lecture, Excursion to Kamakura, Free Self Exploring Tokyo, Excursion to Sanrio Puroland, and Closing Ceremony, Fly Back to Seoul)
APPLICANTS ELIGIBILITY FOR HISS 2026
- Active Telkom University undergraduate students who have passed 1 year of study.
- Having excellent academic records, min GPA of 3.0 and/or above.
- Having good English communication skills, proved by English at level CEFR B2 (IELTS 5.5, TOEIC 785, IBT 72, ITP 543, Duolingo 90, or EPrT 500* (for internal registration only).
- Being nominated by the International Office of Telkom University.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR HISS 2026
As the first step, Telkom University students must prepare all the required documents for joining HISS 2026, such as:
- Scan of Student ID Card
- Recent Academic Transcript in English
- Scan of English Proficiency Certificate.
- Formal Photo

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR OFFICIAL REGISTRATION
Follow these additional requirements for official registration to participate in HISS 2026 (for Visa Application):
- Formal photo in jpg format which is under 500KB in size
- A copy of passport
- Bank certificate
- Application form
- International Health Insurance
- Family Relation Certificate (only for applicants with bank certificate under their father or mother’s name)
- Letter of Recommendation by International Office of Telkom University (only for applicants who don’t meet the GPA or language requirement)
APPLICATION PROCEDURES FOR HISS 2026
- Applicant reads detailed information on HISS 2026
- Applicant consults with academic supervisor related to participation in the program, including the courses’ selection.
- Applicant prepares required documents for the internal nomination step at Telkom University.
- Applicants make an online registration for the nomination step at: https://tel-u.ac.id/hiss2026 before 31 March 2026.
- Wait for the next announcement regarding the CHOSEN nomination of HISS 2026 from the International Office of Telkom University.
- Once the nomination, the applicant will be guided to apply to the official online application for HISS 2026.
ACCOMMODATION IN HISS 2026
• ON Campus dormitory Twin Room Type (15 minutes by walk)
• OFF-Campus Housing Twin/Single Type (20 minutes by metro)
• Price Range (on and Off Campus) KRW 700.000 – 1.500.000
NOTE: Housing for the entire six-week program will be guaranteed upon payment. Additional registration may be required to finalize room arrangements, with all accommodations being in twin-room setups.
