International Student Gathering 2025 Strengthens Youth Diplomacy through Cultural and Educational Exchange

Bandung, Indonesia — Telkom University, in collaboration with the Museum of the Asian-African Conference, successfully held the International Student Gathering 2025 on Thursday, 19 June 2025, at the historic Savoy Homann Hotel and the Museum of the Asian-African Conference. As an annual event initiated in 2018, the International Student Gathering 2025 continues to serve as a strategic platform for international students in Indonesia—particularly those from Asia and Africa—to engage in dialogue on global issues relevant to today’s youth.

Carrying the theme “Empowering Global Youth: Diplomacy through Culture and Learning,” the International Student Gathering 2025 highlighted the pivotal role of young people in fostering international understanding, cultural appreciation, and diplomatic relations. The event sought to empower participants to actively engage in global conversations while expanding their intercultural perspectives and strengthening international networks.

The event was attended by over 100 participants and was officially opened by the Deputy Mayor of Bandung, H. Erwin, S.E., M.Pd, followed by welcoming remarks from Dr. Eng. Faisal Budiman, S.T., M.Sc., representative of Telkom University. These addresses reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to promoting global citizenship and inclusive education through programs such as the International Student Gathering 2025.


A key highlight of the International Student Gathering 2025 was the presence of two distinguished keynote speakers:

In her keynote address, Ms. Nigeriawati underscored the role of international students in public diplomacy, emphasizing the importance of cultural exchange and communication in building positive international relations. Her insights at the International Student Gathering 2025 encouraged youth to become active contributors to peace and mutual understanding across borders.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Najib elaborated on the strategic significance of Indonesian scholarship programs in promoting educational and cultural diplomacy. His presentation at the International Student Gathering 2025 highlighted how academic opportunities serve as instruments for long-term international cooperation and capacity building.

By integrating cultural diplomacy with academic exchange, the International Student Gathering 2025 reaffirmed the transformative potential of youth as agents of change—capable not only of innovation but also of upholding the values of tolerance, collaboration, and respect for diversity.
