Kumamoto MEXT Program 2025. The Graduate School of Science and Technology (GSST) at Kumamoto University offers the opportunity to apply for the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship to excellent candidates from Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, and Thailand, who wish to study in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. This program belongs to the Master and Doctoral Course of the International Joint Education Program for Science and Technology (IJEP), where the main language for classes and research is English. Basic Japanese language courses are offered at the Center for International Education.

APPLICANTS ELIGIBILITY FOR Kumamoto MEXT Program 2025

  1. Indonesian Nationality holder
  2. Telkom University alumni or TelU students who are expected to graduate by September 2025.
  3. Age Requirement
    • Age for Master: Must be aged 22 years old or older as of September 30, 2025.
    • Age for Doctoral: Must be aged 24 years old or older as of September 30, 2025.
  4. Having excellent academic records and good honors
  5. Language: must have a score equivalent to CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) B2 or higher. TOEIC, both TOEIC® Listening & Reading Test and TOEIC® Speaking & Writing Test must be taken and must be equivalent to CEFR B2 or higher.
  6. Being passed the nomination Kumamoto Master MEXT 2025.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR Kumamoto MEXT Program 2025

As the first step, Telkom University students must prepare all the required documents for Kumamoto MEXT Program 2025, such as:

  • Scan of Student ID Card
  • Official transcripts of academic records in English from each college and university attended, including information such as GPA and ranking.
  • Certificates of Bachelor’s degree and or Master’s degree (or a certificate of anticipation of completion), or copies of diplomas (original and English translation). Scan of English Proficiency Certificate
  • Summaries of Bachelor’s thesis and Master’s thesis or equivalents in English.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR OFFICIAL REGISTRATION

Follow these additional requirements for official registration to participate in MEXT Program 2025:

  • Formal photo in jpg format which is under 500KB in size
  • A copy of passport
  • Bank certificate
  • Application form
  • International Health Insurance
  • Family Relation Certificate (only for applicants with bank certificate under their father or mother’s name)
  • Letter of Recommendation by International Office of Telkom University (only for applicants who don’t meet the GPA or language requirement)
