Hanyang International Summer School (HISS) is one of Korea’s leading international summer programs. Offering a wide variety of courses allows students from all backgrounds and majors to participate in the HISS 2024 program. On top of the academic focus, there are also plenty of opportunities to experience Korean culture through many of the organized activities.

PROGRAM PERIOD OF HISS 2024
The program is scheduled to take place over a period of four weeks, commencing in July 2024. HISS 2024 is also provided two weeks additional for HISS Culture.

INTERNAL REGISTRATION DEADLINE OF HISS 2024
Telkom University students who want to participate in the HISS 2024 at Hanyang University must register beforehand via the internal application link before May 1st, 2024.
COURSES OF HISS 2024
General Guidelines
- Courses are taught from Tuesday to Friday (15 class days in total)
- Students can choose up to 3 courses and earn up to 9 credits.
- Class hours: 15 hours per 1 credit
- Academic Course: 3 credits / elective courses: 1 – 3 credits

- Minimum enrollments must be met for each course to be confirmed.
- Some of the courses listed are tentative and subject to change.
- Course registration will proceed strictly on a first-come, first-served basis
ACTIVITIES OF HISS 2024*
3 One-day Tours
- Students can join 3 one-day arranged by HISS 2024 program Team.
- Swim and chill by Han River, and enjoy the night on a night cruise!
- Watch a K-league soccer game and try some Korean snacks!
- Enjoy your day at the biggest amusement park in Korea, the Everland!
SUM Tours with Hanyang Global Lions
From the campus tour on the first day of the HISS 2024 to the Graduation Ceremony on the last day of the program, Hanyang students will be your friends during your stay in Korea!
They will be your group leaders at the one-day tours, and the SUM Tours organized by HGL are also something that you should look forward to on the weekdays.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR HISS 2024 CULTURE
Besides attending the class and company visit, if students choose the six weeks of HISS 2024, they will have some additional activities related to culture.
Sokcho
As one of the best coastal cities in South Korea’s Gangwon-Do province, which is a popular tourist destination that offers a blend of history, culture, national parks, natural beauty, and local cuisine.
Jeollabuk-do
Here we will provide you with an overnight trip schedule filled with Korean traditional experiences. You will get to visit different spots in Wanju, and Jeonju, and Mujuwhich are all parts of Jeollabuk-do, Korea.
DMZ Tunnel Tour
Learn about the history between South and North Korea at the demilitarized zone and visit the actual tunnel which was used during the war time.
Blue House
A visit to the former President’s Office, and walk around the GyeongbokPalace wearing Korean traditional banbok!
K-POP Concert
Get ready for an exciting and heart beating K-POP concert!
APPLICANTS ELIGIBILITY FOR HISS 2024
- Active Telkom University undergraduate students who have passed 1 year of study.
- Having excellent academic records, min GPA of 3.0 and/or above.
- Having good English communication skills, proved by English at level CEFR B2 (IELTS 5.5, TOEIC 785, IBT 72, ITP 543, Duolingo 90, or EPrT 500* (for internal registration only).
- Being nominated by the International Office of Telkom University.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR HISS 2024
As the first step, Telkom University students must prepare all the required documents for joining HISS 2024, such as:
- Scan of Student ID Card
- Recent Academic Transcript in English
- Scan of English Proficiency Certificate.
- Formal Photo

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR HISS 2024 OFFICIAL REGISTRATION
Follow these additional requirements for official registration to participate in HISS 2024
(for Visa Application):
- Formal photo in jpg format which is under 500KB in size
- A copy of passport
- Bank certificate
- Application form
- International Health Insurance
- Family Relation Certificate (only for applicants with bank certificate under their father or mother’s name)
- Letter of Recommendation by International Office of Telkom University (only for applicants who don’t meet the GPA or language requirement)
APPLICATION PROCEDURES FOR HISS 2024
- Reads detailed information of HISS 2024 HERE OR HERE.
- Consults with academic supervisor related to participation in the HISS 2024 program, including the courses’ selection.
- Prepares required documents for the internal nomination step at Telkom University.
- Make an online registration for the nomination step at: http://tiny.cc/HISS2024 before May 1st, 2024.
- Wait for the next announcement regarding the CHOSEN nomination of HISS 2024 from the International Office of Telkom University.
- Once nominated, the applicant will be guided to apply to the official online application for HISS 2024.
