Telkom University Master of Management (MM Tel-U) is a post-graduate programs under the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Telkom University, which provide a Master degree to students normally complete the course over two years. Students will begin to build management skills are basic and functional, and then proceed with the choices specialized expertise that reflects their interest in the specific field and to fulfill their professional aspirations. MM Tel-U is accredited by the Accreditation Institution Nation (BAN PT) and International Accreditation (ABEST21) in order to provide assurance management system in high quality education.

Brief Description Telkom University Master of Management (MM Tel-U) was originally named MBA Bandung established by PT Telkom with a single program: Master of Business Administration (MBA). This program started in 1990 as the first MBA program in Bandung. The program is gained high accreditation and still have a high score Accreditation (score A). International accreditation of ABEST21 also been obtained by MM Tel-U in early 2016. The uniqueness of MM Tel-U is to manage the environment and higher education in collaboration with the ICT industry. By 2016, MM Tel-U has received the “Good Practice Award in Synchronous and Asynchronous Learning Process” from ABEST21.

MM Global Leadership & Innovation Management

This program is intended for professionals and executives who have professional experience of more than 3 years. This is a Dual Degree program held in cooperation with the School of Business (HSW) University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW). Students will earn the title of Master of Management (MM) MM Tel-U and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Master of Business Administration FHNW.

The load of study for master program is no less than 36 credit units (Satuan Kredit Semester, SKS) and no more than 50 credit units in 4 (four) scheduled semesters that may be completed in less than 4 (four) semesters and no more than 10 (ten) semesters including thesis writing, after the bachelor program, or other equal programs (Kepmendiknas No. 232/U/2000).

The curriculum structure of MM Tel U is basically divided into four main modules including, (1) basic module, (2) functional module, (3) major module and (4) research module. Each course emphasizes teaching learning process using case method which introduces the scope of the theories to study. In each course, each module offers specific assignments by referring to the determined Course Outline (SAP) and syllabus. Besides take home assignments, there are also some other assignments that the students should accomplish within the course session, either individually or in group. The criteria of the modules specified in the curriculum structure of MM Tel U are as follows:

 

Basic Module

Basic module is a group of studies and lessons in the curriculum of MM Tel U aimed at providing some basic concepts including basic knowledge and tools that can help the analysis and decision making in functional management. Basic module is an initial intensive preparation to prepare students before their study so that they understand the basic concepts of whole management topics. Basic module, either in curriculum 2014 or 2016, consists of 4 (four) compulsory courses with the total load of 12 credit units.

Functional Module

Functional module is a group of studies and lessons in the curriculum of MM Tel U aimed at providing the basics in the building of skills and the application in functional management. Functional management, either in curriculum 2014 or 2016, consists of 5 (five) compulsory courses with the total load of 15 credit units.

Major Module

Major module is a group of studies and lessons in curriculum of MM Tel U aimed at providing the understanding and abilities in a certain field or industry. This module is an elective module based on the students’ interest. There is a difference in the number of courses and load of study of the Major Module between the one in curriculum 2014 and 2016. Major Module in Curriculum 2014 consists of 4 (four) elective courses with the total load of 15 credit units. However, in curriculum 2016, Major Module consists of 6 (six) elective courses with the total load of 7 credit units.

Research Module

Research module is a study in thesis writing which is also one of the requirements in obtaining the master of management degree. Research module, either in curriculum 2014 or 2016, consists of 1 (one) compulsory course with the total load of 6 credit units.

Based on the explanation above, the difference between curriculum 2014 and 2016 lies in the number of courses and the load of credit units of the Major Module. The load of study of MM Tel U in curriculum 2014 is 45 credit units for 4 (four) scheduled semesters that may be completed in no less than 4 (four) semesters but no more than 8 (eight) semesters including thesis writing. The load of study of MM Tel U in curriculum 2016 is 40 credit units for 4 (four) scheduled semesters that may be completed in no less than 4 (four) semesters but no more than 6 (six) semesters including thesis writing.
