Inferior, Tel-U team became a Champion of National Debate Competition: Trilogy of Coin 2015
BANDUNG, TEL-U – Telkom University debate team won first prize and winner in the National Debate Competition: Trilogy of Coin which was held on June 3 to 6 and in the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Soedirman (UNSOED) Purwokerto, Central Java.
A team of Mohammad Faisal Rynaldi AK (MBTI), Kevin Made Bratawisnu (MBTI), and Sari Rahmawati (IF) won the champion after defeating a team from University of Semarang State (UNNES) and by debating the motion “This Council Believe Indonesian government has Conduct Policy Effective economy in the face of MEA 2015 “.
Competition with the theme “Creative Economy To Face AEC 2015” using Asian Parliamentary system, where each participant gets 7 minutes 20 seconds to talk and one person in the team will give the reply speech at the end of his speech. In this race, the system consists of a motion granting the Motion Preposition when the preliminary round to the semifinal and Impromtu Motion at the final round .
To be able to win, the debate team of Tel-U has a specific strategy. “We are sharing the task with one another to find the necessary concepts and mechanisms. As this debate, so it’s unlikely they all seek the same thing, “said Kevin. According to him, the concept of motion needed to become more focused, while the mechanisms required to find the data and then the two are connected to each other.
According to Rynaldi, teams from other universities is far more competitive than the competitions before they ever follow. “Initially we had inferior to the teams. But because we’ve determined together we finally get through and get a champion, “he said.
The competition was followed by various universities in Indonesia, among others, the Padjadjaran University (Unpad), Diponegoro University (Diponegoro University), Semarang State University (UNNES), UPN Yogyakarta, UNY, Brawijaya University, Undiksa, and of course the host, Soedirman University (Unsoed ) Purwokerto, Central Java.
Rynaldi also added that this team is built and the members of the SME Search Telkom University. “We were able to get achievements and champions for the guidance of friends in SMEs Search,” he concluded. (Purel / EAD)
