Admission & Scholarship Info Session for Timorese. Admission of new international students with scholarship scheme is one of the most sought-after announcements among scholarship seekers all around the world. In digital era, applicants who benefit from a high-speed internet connection can easily find information on new student admission through websites and other social media accounts. However, applicants who come from areas with less access to information technology experience problems in finding information and opportunities to continue their studies. Since several years ago, Telkom University<\/a> has actively participated in onsite educational exhibitions in order to reach prospective applicants to get admission information easily. However, since the COVID-19 pandemic, educational exhibitions have been transformed into online. Of course, visitors to the online exhibition who are looking for information on new student admission will not be as many visitors to the onsite exhibition. Again, the problem is network access and information access.<\/p>\n

Telkom University, seeing this situation, tried to socialize new student admission by collaborating with many partners including Indonesian embassies abroad. After previously conducting socialization of new student admission in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy in Songkhla Thailand and the Indonesian Embassy in Kazakhstan, this time Telkom University collaborated with the Indonesian Embassy in Dili Timor Leste and Pusat Budaya Indonesia (PBI) in Dili Timor Leste to organize a virtual socialization of new student admission.<\/p>\n

It’s an honor that the Educational and Cultural Attach\u00e9 of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Dili, Timor Leste, Prof. Dr. Ikhfan Haris, M.Sc., could attend and give warm welcoming speech in the Info Session on Telkom University Admission & Scholarship Program. Participants who attended this info session were divided into two modes of participation: together virtually at Pusat Budaya Indonesia Dili, Timor Leste and individually in zoom meeting. Big appreciation to Pusat Budaya Indonesia which helped us spread the information and arrange the event onsite though live video conference with Telkom University.<\/p>\n

Ms. Indah Fajarwati, M.M., a Manager of International Office shared information about Telkom University including faculties, study programs, and degree & non-degree program offered by Telkom University to all participants, while Ms. Lia Marlia, M.Ikom., Assistant Manager of International Mobility explained the information on new student admission process and scholarship program available at Telkom University. Participants had a chance to deliver their curiosity on information about Admission & Scholarship Program in the discussion session.<\/p>\n

Admission & Scholarship Discussion Highlight<\/strong><\/h3>\n

For Timorese applicants, Telkom University specifically offers scholarship program in collaboration with Telkomcel, named \u201cTelU x Telkomcel Scholarship\u201d. This scholarship scheme will be granted to Timorese applicants who meet high standard of requirement of new student admission. Besides, Timorese applicants also have a chance to study at Telkom University by earning Telkom University Scholarship (internal). The following is new student admission step in earning TelU x Telkomcel Scholarship and or Telkom University Scholarship (internal):<\/p>\n

  1. Online application<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Timorese applicants must register online at io.telkomuniversity.ac.id\/admission by creating new account and completing all application steps including program selection steps, personal data step, family data step, educational data step, and required documents submission step.<\/p>\n

    1. Online\/Onsite Test<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Applicants who completed the application step will be invited to conduct the test. The test will be conducted onsite in PBI Dili Timor Leste or Online, depending on the covid-19 situation.<\/p>\n

      1. Interview<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Applicants who passed the test will be invited to interview session. In this interview, applicants will be examined in term of program knowledge, their passion and motivation to study at Telkom University.<\/p>\n

        1. Result Announcement<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          The result of the new student selection will be announced through email and online application. The decision whether applicants are granted the scholarship or not as well as the types of scholarship depends on their selection process which carefully reviewed by the admission team.<\/p>\n
