This year, on its 7th anniversary, Telkom University made another brilliant achievement, becoming &#8220;The Best Private Higher Education&#8221; in Indonesia in 2020. The Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) announced the 2020 clustering of Indonesian universities through the Ministry of Education and Culture&#8217;s website portal (<a href=\"http:\/\/klasterisasi-pt.kemendikbud.go.id\">http:\/\/klasterisasi-pt.kemendikbud.go.id<\/a>) on Tuesday (18\/08\/2020).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on\nthe press release of the Ministry of Education and Culture, there are 2 (two)\nformulation of the objectives of this clustering, which are to formulate\ncharacteristics of higher education quality that have been documented in the\nHigher Education Database and conduct clusterization studies based on certain\ncharacteristics for the benefit of higher education development, these two\nthings are to build a foundation for Ministry of Education and Culture and\nHigher Education to make continuous improvements in order to improve\norganizational performance and health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2020\nHigher Education Ranking focuses on indicators or assessments based on Output &#8211;\nOutcome Base, according to the Input Performance with a weight of 45% which\nincludes Input (20%) and Process (25%) performance, as well as Output\nPerformance with a weight of 55% which includes Performance Output (25%), and\nOutcome (30%). The assessment on the input aspect includes the percentage of\nlecturers with doctoral degrees, the percentage of lecturers in the post of\nhead and professorship, the ratio of the number of lecturers to the number of\nstudents, the number of foreign students, and the number of lecturers working\nas practitioners in the industry for a minimum of 6 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the\nprocess aspect, there are 9 indicators used, including Institutional Accreditation,\nStudy Program Accreditation, Online Learning, Higher Education Collaboration,\nCompleteness of PDDIKTI Reports, Number of Study Programs in collaboration with\nDUDI, NGO or QS Top 100 WCU by subject, Number of Study Programs implementing\nprograms Merdeka Learning, the number of students who take the Free Learning\nProgram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the\noutput aspect, there are four indicators used, including the number of indexed\nscientific articles per lecturer, research performance, student performance,\nthe number of study programs that have obtained International Accreditation or\nCertification. Meanwhile, in the outcome aspect, there are five indicators\nused, including innovation performance, number of citations per lecturer,\nnumber of patents per lecturer, community service performance, and the\npercentage of college graduates who get a job within 6 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rector of\nTelkom University, Prof. Adiwijaya, expressed his deepest gratitude to the\nAcademic Community of Telkom University and the Stakeholders for this achievement\nand emphasized that Telkom University&#8217;s focus is not on results but on the\nparameters of its assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We\nare grateful for this achievement, thanks to all Telkom University Academics\nand Stakeholders for all their hard work and support. Furthermore, our focus is\nnot the results of the ranking, but the assessment of the input, process, output\nand outcome parameters are a means of self-evaluation for us to continue to\ncarry out continuous quality improvement. Hopefully this achievement will be an\nencouragement for all academicians to always give their best in contributing to\nthe Indonesian nation\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on\nthe assessment indicators from the Ministry of Education and Culture, Adiwijaya\nadded that Telkom University is superior in terms of outcomes, namely in\ninnovation and community service performance, the number of citations and\npatents per lecturer and the percentage of the absorption of graduates by\nindustry within 6 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Alhamdulillah, from the performance of Tel-U&#8217;s outcome, it has a superior value and is included in the National Top 10. This is because Tel-U focuses on developing the best innovative research products as proven by the Widyapadhi IPTEK Award as a private university with the best innovation management in Indonesia. In addition, Tel-U is also active in various community service program activities as well as the absorption of graduates in Industry with an average waiting period of 2.92 months from the results of the tracer study\u201d, he explained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Director General of Higher Education, Prof. Nizam said the clustering of higher education, which is conducted annually by the Ministry of Education and Culture, consists of clusters 1 to 5. This clustering is not meant to provide a ranking for universities. The essence of this clustering is to classify universities according to their level of development. &#8220;We see the clustering of higher education aspects of management as a whole.
