Information Systems is a study program under the faculty of Industrial Engineering in Telkom University. Information Systems also one of the most favorite program for international students.

Introduction

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Telkom University has conducted online lectures for all students including new international students. It is expected that after the Covid-19 pandemic begins to subside and the Indonesian government has opened access and services for international students, we will gladly welcome international students on campus studies.

The Information Systems Study Program is one of study programs in School of Industrial Engineering-Telkom University, Indonesia that consists of 2 domains, namely Business and Technology. Information Systems bridges the gap between technical components (information and communication technology) and non-technical components (business and management), so that graduates from the Information Systems study program will have Technology competency and Business competence. The Information Systems study program emphasizes how to utilize information and communication technology (ICT) to solve problems faced by a business or organization and can provide an evaluation of the strategic value of the use of ICT in achieving organizational goals.

What Will You Learn?

Information Systems students will learn a lot about business functions in organizations, how to model and improve business processes, conduct analysis and design to create information systems needed by organizations. In addition, they will have the ability to think critically, analytically, communicate well and have professional ethics.

The learning materials of the International Information System are delivered in English, including lectures, internships, exams, theses, trials, scientific publications. Students are also provided some international program such as mobility program (edutrip, student exchange or short course program) and international certification related to Information Systems. In addition, there will be an English Synergy Program to improve their English from the Language Center in the 1 years.

3.IS ConsultantGraduates of Telkom University Information Systems have the ability to analyze business processes and data, integrate all system components to implement information systems-based solutions, measure IT utilization performance, identify possible risks in IT utilization, design recommendations to adjust IT usage according to the organization’s business needs.
4.TechnopreneurGraduates of Telkom University Information Systems have the ability to be entrepreneurs who are able to design and develop innovation-based businesses by utilizing IT as a solution in solving problems in society.
5.Advanced StudiesGraduates of Telkom University Information Systems have the ability to continue their studies to the master level education.

Information Systems Curriculum

Starting this odd semester 2020/2021, Telkom University, especially the School of Industrial Engineering, is implementing the 2020 Curriculum which refers to the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework. The 2020 curriculum design was made with the aim of:

  1. Anticipating the development of industrial revolution 4.0, by adding new literacy, namely human literacy, data literacy and technological literacy.
  2. Strengthening industry engagement by realizing the WRAP Program (Work Ready Program) in the form of internship, entrepreneurship and research-ship.
  3. Strengthening digital learning methods based on student-centered learning by developing blended learning, flipped learning and distance learning.
  4. Recognizing students’ community development and innovation activities by involving in Student Creativity Week activities, Thematic Real Work Lectures, national or international competitions, certification and other equivalent.
  5. Implementing the learning process of “Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka”, where students are given the freedom to take learning credits outside the study program, which can be taken from outside the study program in a university and or outside university.

All of this aims to produce graduates with the ability to think, problem solve, and interact across the globe according to the vision of the School of Industrial Engineering.(IO)***
